Waiver: Voluntary relinquishment of a right.

With Prejudice: Applied to orders of judgment dismissing a case, and meaning that the plaintiff is barred from bringing a lawsuit on the same claim or cause in the future.

The workers medical expenses and wages are paid by the workers compensation insurance policy. Critics of the act state that it unfairly removes an individuals right to sue even when justified and that the wage compensation is not enough for many employees to make a living.

Workers' Compensation Insurance: An insurance policy that a company may purchase in order to acquire immunity from lawsuits on behalf of injured workers.

Wrongful Death: As a general rule of thumb, any death that is not due to natural causes is likely considered to be a wrongful death. There are many causes of wrongful deaths ranging from murder and criminal attacks to car accidents.
